Are you laying the carpet on a deck or on cement?

Most people glue it down. I don't like outdoor carpet. Gets wet, traps moisture. Can rot wood and deteriorate concrete. Also a pain to remove in the furture.

Are you asking about artificial green grass, or carpet?

I wouldnt glue it down bc then it becomes permanent and if you do ever decide to remove it it would be difficult to do so. Instead use heavy duty double sided tape then you can easily pick it up if need be.

I also don't understand. Is this artificial turf or some type of green indoor/outdoor carpet?

Yes, artificial grass is also called artificial turf, and sometimes also synthetic lawn, depending on where you live. If installed properly, it can give the look of green lawn, for many maintenance-free years.

However, getting it put down correctly is not as simple as just rolling it out.

The job involves removing the real lawn and much area preparation first.
