Choose plants carefully. I have bunches of cats and dogs. Draw it out on paper and head over to your local nursery and see what is available in your zone. Google each plant suggested so you know it is pet safe. Skip things that have thorns like roses, bougainvillea, etc. Stay away from many of the decorative grasses as when they bloom, many have fluff or stickers that can get inhaled or lodged into a dogs ears and that is an expensive vet visit, and some even require surgery. There are 6 cats and 6+ dogs in my yard, and understand your concern. These will help.
