How do I keep ants off of my hummingbird feeders?
How can I keep ants from getting into my hummingbird feeders? I smear cooking oil on the hangers. Sometimes it work, not always.

Try diatomaceous earth around the base. It is still effective if it gets wet, as long as it doesn't wash away.

We got the kind of feeder that has the water well on top to keep the ants off the lower part with the liquid. It worked as long as we kept water in the well.
