If your carpet is light in color add a cap full of bleach to the water of your carpet cleaner if it is a standard size cleaner. Reduce for a smaller cleaner. Steam clean and rinse as normal Test a small corner area first to see the results.

    Hi Diann

I use a mixture of equal parts of vinegar and water with a few drops of Dawn in a spray bottle. I spray it on, let it sit so it has time to work, then scrub it to loosen the stains. That works on most of the stains in my carpet. If you know exactly what caused the stain there are certain things that might work just for those stains. My carpet is light colored and colorfast so if I have one that doesn't come out, I'll put on a paste of baking soda and water then spray it with a mix of Hydrogen Peroxide and water, then clean it with plain water, but there may be something special for stains you can identify. Here's an article that should help with that. Wishing you the best.

  • I like to use Folex for carpet stains. Spray some on and scrub the spot. I've even see it remove red wine.
