Learn how to create a Resin Art Heart in this Valentine's Day Craft Tutorial! I was asked if I had any ideas on how to combine a wood heart, letters and resin. I didn't, but I collected the items and this is what I came up with!

This is a summary of the project. Please visit my blog for additional photos and materials list! Resin Heart Art DIY

I found a wood heart at the craft store. I removed the ribbon and painted it white. I painted it white, so the colors I was going to put on it would be nice and bright and not darkened by the brown.

I mixed my resin and divided it into multiple smaller cups. I added pink pigment, red pigment and white pigment. I also reserved some clear. I did a resin pour onto the the heart. You can move it around with your stir stick, or pick it up and move it from side to side. Either way works, as long as you get the whole heart covered. I then used my lighter to pop any bubbles.

I found the word love and it was made out of almost a compressed paper, but if you found a wood one, it would work just as well. I painted it gold. I placed the word into the resin, while it was still wet. That way, it sinks into the resin and becomes one with the project.

I used the clear resin that I had reserved and dripped it over the gold love, so it was protected and it would help it all become one piece. I used my lighter to pop the bubbles again.

Once cured, I added a black ribbon for hanging.

Here it is! Big and beautiful! Remember you can find full detailed directions and video tutorial on by blogpost: Resin Heart Art DIY
