How do I freshen kitchen and bathroom drains?

I have used baking soda vinegar and drain cleaners. There is always a musty earthy smell coming from the drains.

Do you have a garbage disposal? Those put off a bad smell sometimes and removing them can help. You can also try grinding some citrus peel, the thinner parts, in the garbage disposal, just a few small pieces, or grinding up ice, that will clean the blades of it. If the problem is not the garbage disposal, you could try bleaching all the drains out. Bleach helps remove that black, slimy build up that can be inside of drains.
If you have an old hot water heater , and if it hasn't been drained during regular maintenance , it can give off a nasty odor , up through the drains . Good luck !
