I believe they are a type of leaf footed nymph, I had them last year on my tomatoes... the image is not super clear so it might be an ASSASSIN BUG

Try doing a search for pests for that plant... that’s how I usually identify and learn how to rid the pest... Good luck!

Until you find out how to treat the bugs, you could try spraying the leaves off with a hose to get rid of the bugs for now. Also find a shadier spot to put the wandering jew in until you can put it in the house. I have my spider plants hanging under the overhang on the north side of the house and they love it. If they get too much sun in the afternoon, just find a spot that maybe gets dappled afternoon sun.

They look like ants to me.

I agree, they look like the nymphs of Leaf Footed Bugs (a sap sucking beetle variety). See this wikipedia for more information, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coreidae. Safer-Soap will make you plant unpleasant for them to suck on and dispel them long enough to get the plants inside, but look carefully for eggs on the underside of the leaves. This is a very agressive bug, in fact forced us to stop growing tomatoes in Texas, as the chemical warfare too great for edible vegatables.

Check at Lowes. They use to have reference books to help you identify insects

I looked up both the Coreidae nymph and the Assassin Bug nymph and honestly they look the same to my untrained eye. If you could catch a couple and show to an exterminator that might be your best bet. Good luck!
