what is a good perennial flower or plant to plant in a partly sunny location. We just removed ivy from the fence. Fence is decorative & doesn’t enclose anything. It’s just a black single fence.

I have a Hoya carnosa that blooms frequently with tiny white flowers that have a strong, sweet scent. It makes my whole bedroom smell good. It's pretty easy to take care of and doesn't need much water. I think other Hoya species have fragrant flowers too- some good smelling and some not-so-good. Dracaena fragrans also has an extremely fragrant bloom, but it might bloom once in a decade if you're lucky! Paperwhites are a very fragrant bulb you can enjoy in the wintertime.

  • Black eyed susans are beautiful, and foxgloves are a biennial that re-seeds, so it would also be a beautiful choice.
