Over the years, the satin nickel knobs on my kitchen cabinets have gotten a bit dirty. What is a safe way to clean them, to restore their shine, without causing any harm?

    Hi Robert,

If they can't be cleaned with a sponge and soapy water, take them off and soak them in warm, soapy water for an hour, more or less. If they have a lot of kitchen grease on them, I'd keep the water on the warmer side. Once they've soaked, clean them with a non-abrasive cleaning sponge. Then rinse and polish the surface. That should work. Wishing you the best.

After cleaning well with hot soapy water to get rid of the grease, dirt, and grime, applya tiny drop of vegetable oil to a clean cloth and wipe gently onto each knob. All it takes is a drop! The nickel will sparkle.

I've had really good luck removing gunk and water spots with baking soda and vinegar.
