  • Take everything out. Only put back what you love or absolutely need. Take notes of what you need to replace. It's surprising how well this works!

Empty it completely and clean it out. Put back what you really use in an organized way. Shirts in one place, pants in another, so it's easy to get dressed. Do the same with the shelving, only what you use. Then take the rest and donate it. It's amazing how good it feels to get rid of stuff!

Also, organize the "stuff" in like items. Hang what needs to be hung, utilize plastic see thru bins for the shelves for non hanging items and also for the floor.

Ive just finished doing my closet. Completely emptied it out and made two piles. One pile to keep and one to donate. Sorted thru everything then organized by slacks, tops, sweaters/jackets etc and placed shoes on a boot tray up on a shelf eye level rather then on the floor so I can see them better. I have twice the space now and can actually find what Im looking for. You will feel so much better after doing this.

If you are like me, it makes me overwhelmed to take it all out at once. I do a category at a time, like shirts. I go through them, declutter them and then put the saved ones together in the closet
