Glidden Professional Gripper and Kilz Adhesion both are good primers. Use a water based egg shell finish (interior latex). The key will be a good prep job. Clean the walls, give them a light sanding, wipe down and use the primer before painting. You can have the primer tinted the same color as your paint too.

Clean the walls, give them a light sanding, wipe down and use the primer before painting. You can have the primer tinted the same color as your paint too.
Wash, prime (Kilz), then paint. Any wall paint will work.
Prepare the walls well with TSP (degreaser) and prime them. Then you can use any paint. :)
