You can make your own sitting areas for free with pallets or find patio furniture in good condition at yard sales. You just have to look. If it were me, I would make one for all the outside edge for the most seating spaces for the least space used. Here are some ideas for patio furniture. ttps://www.hometalk.com/diy/outdoor/benches/repurposed-pallet-into-a-do-it-yourself-bench-2480037

I have a small area at the back corner of my house that I turned into a small patio and garden area just for sitting. I tilled the soil and leveled it off then I chose different plants that love both full sun and partial shade as this is what this spot gets. I didn't use a big plants as it is so small. I then brought home an small (2 x 2') old iron patio table that someone had thrown away at the dumpster. I cleaned it up, spray painted it black and put in a marine grade plywood top that I pained red wood. Finally, Walmart had plastic patio chairs on sale so I bought two of those. The table and chairs sit in the rear corner next to the house where there is some shade and I have a block walk way to it. I covered the rest of the dirt with mulch (found on sale) and I now have a small patio. I sometimes put potted flowers around it too for added color and interest. Works great, little and private and only cost me about $30.00.

What kind of space are you starting from? Concrete, dirt, grass?

if concrete, clean it, decide if you want a sunning area, shade, block an ugly view? A pretty colored market umbrella will give you shade, you can put a small table under it a couple of chairs, and an outdoor ottoman to kick your feet up, for weekend coffee in the morning, glass of wine in the evenings.

Lounge chair, for sunning,. World Market colorful outdoor rug, fairy lights, good sized colorful pots of flowers. Collect these items slowly, check out Facebook marketplace clearance, sales, estate, moving, garage sales. Ross,Home Goods, etc. have excellent prices on garden pottery , chimes, ...(Seasonal), easy plants to grow in the pots are millionbells, geraniums, hydrangeas, potato vines. All except the potato vinescome back every year. We all want nice things immediately, but go slow, and look out for great deals, if they don’t match in color spray paint is your friend.heres some photos of plants , always brings joy to see them blooming.

Thank you sweetheart for your input but O have no room for a table let alone an umbrella. Also, it looks like I have a lot of black mold up on the patio ceiling and don’t know what to do with it as the place I live in refuse to fix anything and they insist that it is norms dangereous. Also, my bathroom is so full of urine behind the toilet and under the sink as I am in a disable unit and it has been there for over 20 years and I refuse to use my bathroom until I can get it off but I do not know what to use because so far I have not had any luck getting the urine of the walls and around the pipes. I am a very very clean person and this is driving me right out of my mind! If you have any and I mean any suggestions please let me know! Like I said before all of my tiles have yellowed and all the lines in between are black and I moved into this and they will not do anything to help me. I have put in about 25 work orders and they have since February 8 fixed 2 screens for me. I live in Canada and am so disabled and broke living on a tiny pension, I do not have enough money in my budget to afford the things I need to address these problems head on because they just ignore me! What can I do, I’m damned if I do and damned if I don’t. Please give me some advice as having rheumatoid arthritis, fuvrotmyalgua, bullion’s earth Femix pempigoid disorder gerd, chronic pain syndrome and a distended bowel and have absolutely no muscle strength or energy.... but I’m really really trying as I havn't The luxury of friends or family which would also make a huge difference in my life. Basically, I guess what I am asking all of you is to pray for a miracle ha ha ha, funny, but I believe in miracles and if you have enough people praying for you, In my heart it’s not going to bring me the things that I need but it will give me the hope that I need to get through these trying times. I don’t even have a computer or phone that will allow me to put ads on to make a little money selling all of the things I no longer need in my life. God Bless all you amazing people, all I really ask for is your prayers to give me hope for a better brighter tomorrow. I love you all and you truly are caring loving creative to say the least people from a planet I never came from!

bless you all for your patience and kindness towards me, I could never be more grateful than I have since joining this group,

      sincerely

Laurie, do you belong to a church? If you haven’t the means to get to one, find one you think you’d like, call the pastor, priest...and see if he can accommodate a ride for you. You can make new friends, and be part of that “ family” . In time they will help you.

Being disabled, I guess you couldn’t DIY anything, but when you do make friends you could , make a simple temporary awning, using a sheet , or painters drop cloth ( very inexpensive, and sturdy), and a couple of poles. Attach one end to roof line securely, and attach poles to each corner of fabric, and place at edge of your patio, into a couple of buckets of cement. There are small “ bistro” tables, or even a small side table.

Goodluck, God Bless on finding your new family.
