How do I fix my ceiling?

My ceiling has three cracks where the wall meets the ceiling. Also the ceiling is bevelled. I am not sure if it’s safe . Do I get the surveyor to look at it or contact my insurance company

  • Could be normal settling, or not. Are they recent? Do you live in earthquake country?

A general contractor can take a look see (for free) and see what he or she has to say. If it turns out to be structural, yes, certainly call your homeowners insurance carrier to see if it might be covered. Here is how to hire a contractor if need be.

No just use compound put it on with a putty knife as flat as you could when dry sand smooth then paint it if the crack is wide and very long use painters tape it’s a white tape you put on over a thin coat of compound then put compound over it it seals the crack so it won’t come back

It could be that your foundation has sunk some. I'd do what Naomie suggested and get a general contractor out to make sure everything is ok. You may also want to make sure you don't have any leaks in the roof. Don't cover up damage until you find out what's causing it.
