You need a fabric paint, some come in little metal tubes, or in plastic squeezing tube. You can sometimes find them in craft stores, some may carry an additive to ad to the paint so it won’t wash off.
Acyrilic craft paint from craft store mixed with fabric medium also from craft store
mixed according to directions. Be sure to wash item before painting. Follow wash directions after painting carefully. Good idea to wash separately the first couple of times
As someone who paints and gets it on my clothes all the time, paint doesn't wash out. So you'll be fine. There are special fabric paints that stay soft, but you can use acrylic or latex as well.

Once painted stick them in the dryer to heat set the paint.
Your very welcome. Do not wash after painting. Paint will bleed. Just the dryer and no fabric softener sheets.

Fabric paint (any good craft store - Michaels, JoAnn, etc.) --always wash the jeans inside out to protect your design as long as possible.
