In our decent size new home, God knows for what reason the previous homeowner had a tiny laundry room where the mudroom is supposed to be. Well, I was on a mission to turn that boring place into an awesome oasis without breaking the bank. Mission accomplished, guys! The laundry room makes me smile every time I go do my laundry!

Here is the before picture. Nothing special, right? Pretty dull! I will show you the magic, soon.

The first thing we did was to remove the lonely cabinet in the corner. I mean, why would you add visual imbalance with one cabinet hanging on the corner?

The Second Step was to clean the room and add crown molding and wainscoting.

The wainscoting was from Home Depot, and we spent only $80 on it. Here is the tutorial on how to install the wainscoting to dress up your walls. It was just a one-hour project, but it made a huge difference.

The Third Step was to replace the light. I decided to add a little glam into the room by adding a chandelier.

Totally loved the result! Even my neighbor said, "Wow! your laundry room looks beautiful", as I was a one happy person to show it to her.

The Fourth Step is installing the wallpaper. I am so glad I went for the wallpaper as opposed to simple painting.

What do you think? I feel the wallpaper with wainscoting totally changed the game for us. I was still under budget for the remodel/makeover.

For Step Five, I gave a great makeover to the under the sink cabinet. Man, that pretty ugly cabinet instantly changed into a farmhouse style adorably cute cabinet!

Doesn't it look eye pleasing as opposed the before? Check out the link above on how I restored it.

For Step Six, since we removed the lonely cabinet on the corner, we decided to add shelving to maximize the space.

Hooray, I am in love with it! Oh my swans there on the shelf. They are my best buddy while I do laundry. I talk to these two swans. Yes, I know.. I am crazy.. I mean crazy for the design ideas! What come to your mind? No..no..no, I have a good head on my shoulder..lol!

The Step Seven was to decorate it and put everything together. Now, are you ready to see the after?! I mean you must be dying to see it.

Yes, we did it! It's a beautiful calming blue and white laundry room that is ready for you. No, I mean for me. After all, I am the one who is going to do the laundry... Just kidding... it's for you, my friend, as well. So, now you can get inspired to do a project like this at home on a budget.

The blue rug is also cute.

It's Open 24 hours, but it's self service, so if you come, don't expect anyone will help you!

I even managed to put pink flowers there as well, as I still like pink... you know how we girls are!

I hope you like it, and if you have any question please feel free to ask away.

Bushra, I love this! It is beautiful! Was the peel and stick wallpaper terribly difficult to work with?

Absolutely gorgeous. I cannot ever make up my mind what I like. I love bright white rooms and then I see color and I am like, "wow!" I myself can never imagine a picture with just an idea or a swatch. I have to visually see everyone's beautiful imaginations and how they work because I would have never been able to imagine the outcomes. This is absolutely beautiful and fun...Laundry still sucks though.

Hi, your laundry room is beautiful, you did a wonderful job.

My quick question is: your sink,is it a bathroom vanity or kitchen cabinet?

If it is a bathroom vanity how did you raise it to make it as tall as your washer? Also the spigot is it a vanity or kitchen sink spigot?

    Thanks,

    Ruthann
