Where is it coming from? The carpet - use a rug shampooer with a detergent with an enzyme in it for dogs.

Do not use chemical sprays! I purchased small bags of activated charcoal deodorizers that absorb the odor. They work great and to recharge them just lay them outside in the sunshine for a few hours.

Hi For, if the dog hasn't been washed, that's the first order of business. Next, air out the area. Wash what can be washed in hot water and vinegar, then vacuum well, then vacuum again and again. Sprinkle baking soda on furniture and carpets. Use a broom and gently sweep in. Allow to sit for, if possible, a day. Then vacuum again. This should get out all the smells a human can smell. The dog? Well, the dog will still know it's their domain. Good luck.

Well, if it's in the carpet, "pet stains" Arm and Hammer "Carpet Fresh" extra strength, works wonderfully! The directions say to sprinkle on,wait a bit then vacuum up,,,but since I have light cream carpet I just leave it in until my next vacuum! As I sprinkle around I use my foot to massage it into the carpet! It smells wonderful and lasts for many weeks!!....

If you have carpeting, you can make a DIY carpet deodorizer: https://youtu.be/x8Je9H8EoKw

I also agree with using baking soda and opening up the windows to air out your home!
