I use clear plastic sroage boxes and a plastic tower. The kids can see what is in the boxes and you can easily put tape onthe end with their name.

Shoe boxes make good storage containers for small toys and lego pieces. You can paint them, cover with contact paper, etc. and then label them as you please.

We put rollers on old drawers and slid them under the beds in the children's rooms. Also we used inexpensive short book shelves and baskets. For stuffed animals we put up a net across the corner for them to put the stuffed animals when they were not sleeping with them. We had a family room and the children had their spring rocking horse and a kitchen set there for play time along with more short book shelves for toys. We allowed toys anywhere in the family room and then made a racing game to put up toys before bed time.

You could use a bookcase with baskets for smaller toys and it'll also give you storage for their books too. You could use big nets for stuffed animals.

We just organized my son's room and although we didn't DIY the storage, we found lots of great options for storing toys big and small! Here is what we did: https://www.aratariathome.com/blog/best-nursery-organization-tips
