How do I keep cicadas away after planting dogwood?

    Cuttings? Propagation means potting first, quality potting mix,

    Small pots, stripping 4-6 inches of

    Bark from the bottom of each cutting, one side of stems and apply

    a thick coating of honey ( pure protein) and away they will go!

    The only way I know to protect against cicadas,is to cover the tree with a netting they can't get thru. Make sure you close it at the bottom of the tree. Good luck! My neighbor did this and his tree did well. Mine didn't. I will net from now on with young trees.
