If the water rings are white, you put a dry towel over the white areas, then iron on medium to medium high. .some have said use mayo, but I never have it in the house.
The earlier post had the answer...mayo. This is an old Amish remedy. Put a lot of it on the stain, leave for 24-48 hours and voila: fixed! And you won't have the risk of burning your wood with an iron. The oil in the mayo will fix the stain. Have fun!

Place a cloth over the ring. An iron set to medium heat and iron over the cloth. may take a few passes.

I USED A MR CLEAN ERASER AND THEN BUFFED WITH A SOFT CLOTH IT WORKED ON MY OAK TABLE
