How to install solar system to open a garage door & gate opener motor?

I need to install my self a solar system that can operate the garage door motor and the gate motor. Since huracan Maria we have constant out of power. So you can get in your property until the power is restored. I will deeply appreciate your assistance in this matter. Truly Jorge.

Both should have safety releases to operate without power. Read your owners manual or look up on line and, if necessary, give the manufacturers a call. My garage door opener died. It owed me nothing as it was over 30 years old. Until I had it replaced, I just opened manually from the inside. Several of my friends have electric gates. They all have a safety release mechanism for this very reason.

Most garage doors have an emergency pull down that will disengage the electric door. Mine does. If I was expecting a storm, and you have no way to get in - I would disengage the electric door - so you can manually lift the door. Mine has a red handle to pull.
