How do I deter a pesky raccoon?

Small raccoon visits most nights. He leaves small holes in my lawn. I don't want to kill him, but I would prefer he stay in the woods behind my house. There is a fence but he just climbs over.

You could get a Have-a-Heart trap... and release (a.k.a. relocate) him in the wild.
Cayenne pepper is a natural raccoon deterrent.
Getting one of these is your best bet...bait the trap. Then release the raccoon far away in the bush!

I have several groups of them that come around regularly. My neighbors and I all grow fruits and vegetables, (I have fig, lemon, line and orange trees, neighbors have apples, apricots, peach grapefruit, etc., so it is inevitable that they turn up. I only have one young male (about a year old) that is a bit aggressive, the rest are all pretty docile. They are petrified of one of my dogs so they scout the place out before coming here.
