My backyard is "SUPER" small...it is mostly concrete leading from my driveway with about 8ft wide of dirt around the perimeter of the concrete..when it rains all the water stands in my backyard...the grands love the concrete they ride their bikes in the small area to the driveway..hehe It's so ugly!! How can I add some beauty to this mud puddle and how can I make the rain water flow?? Thanks

WE added a french drain in our yard to get the water to drain off. They can be purchased at home improvement stores. You may need to hire a teen to dig the foot deep trench or so unless you want to rent a trencher, but they are easy to install after the ditch is dug. You also need gravel under and around it all sides then back fill the dirt over it. The end away from the house needs to be lower than the starting point to drain the water off.

A photo would be very helpful.

The French drain might work depending on the location. If you raised the small grass area around the concrete you will alleviate the problem. Add more top soil and replant.

You can use a french drain or a trench that would direct the water to where you want it. Also adding gravel and make a dry garden bed would be a good choice.
