EVERY YEAR I have to repair dog urine stains on my grass. My routine: Rake the dead yellow grass from the spots--down to bare earth if necessary, rough up the soil with a hand garden rake, add a bit of top soil, sprinkle grass seed, sprinkle about 1.5 inches of top soil over this, water daily if the spots get dry. In about 10 days you will have grass popping up. If you use quick annual rye grass seed it will pop up fast but this kind of grass seed dies out in late fall/winter. You have to seed with a perennial grass seed once the rye pops up. The rye will hold the perennial seed in place. If you do it before a good rain it helps! I try to keep my dog to one area but I live in a place where it snows a lot so the snow piles sometimes take over the pee spot and when it's -30 below the yard right out the door and back in works better! A consequence of owning a dog.

We had problems with dog urine devastating the green grassy turf. When the human leash training and otc urine ph supplement and other recommendations failed-We resorted to a remote training collar to train our dogs over the last 17+ years.
This collar is exactly the same principle as our existing invisible fence, but you can resort to a tone only button initiation to keep the dog away from an area you’re trying to protect. There are two different zap modes of nick and shock that you initiate and regulate by a intensity dial. Its the same type of collars hunting dogs use.
I do realize these Remote training collars are not for all people but if you using invisible type fence already- it’s likely a great option. My dogs were trained to pee and in mulched area and our grass has been great the last 17years. After training they don't need to wear the collar.

Once you see your pet doing there business on the lawn, hose it down with water. Or take home to another section that does not have grass.
