Why would I want to use as an annual instead of a peony?

In this article it says there following flowers are just as good, I don’t get it!

The article isn't linked but I don't understand why someone chooses annual unless they just enjoy re-planting each year.

Nicole, not sure which article you mean, but....a Peony is a perennial. So it will come back every year and is low maintenance too. It will grow bigger over the years.

An annual only grows and flowers for one year. I use them in my flower beds to fill in around my perennials. I can change up the colours of the annuals every year, depending on what I want to see. So that's a nice bonus to me.

I use mostly Perennials though, because they don't need much care and I don't have a lot of spare time.

And I usually buy two flats of annuals, so I can use them in flower beds and also my porch flower pots.

    Hello.

Not sure about the article Annuals can give more days of flowering with bright colors, imho, peonies are lovely but short lived in blossom time. The severe rains recently ravaged mine before they could be enjoyed.
