How to paint over chalk paint with different paint?
I chalk painted then waxed an old chair to be used for a plant holder on my deck. We had weeks of constant rain and my chair was ruined. What happened and how can I repaint this chair with a different kind of paint over the remaining chalk paint? Thanks for any help that comes my way

Lightly sand to smooth out the paint and finish. Prime with Kilz primer then paint. Seal with three coats of a water based polyurethane.
You should be able to repaint over the wax. :) I've had success with this on several projects. I'd reseal also with a water based poly.
