How do I clean a stainless steel grille inside and out?

Grille has stains from grease on the lid and inside and outside of the grille. I bought stainless steel, paid more since I thought it would be easier to keep clean. WRONG!

I use a barbecue cleaner that you can buy at Homedepot. It works reallt well, but it takes a long time to do.
Easy off oven cleaner and a hose. Follow the instructions on the can. Go for the low odor and do it outside. Wash after with regular dish soap.
