How can I change my paint?

I have a flat med blue paint can I change it to a light grey or med grey

    No...you’ll have to buy new paint.

    Change meaning adding something to it to change to color or painting over it? Take a small bit in a lid and add a drop of black to it. Keep testing until you get the shade you want.

  • You can add black to what you have, but it will always have a blue tint to it. Best to just buy new paint in the color you want.

    Yes, if you are speaking of latex paint. You may need some white paint to lighten it to the intensity you want. Then by adding artist acrylic black paint you can create a shade of grey that leans toward the blue side. You can buy a tube of acrylic paint at most craft stores. Go slow when you are mixing colors keep stirring to insure that your colors are being mixed. I use a paddle like device chucked into a power drill. Keep taking samples of your mixture so you can dry them and find the right mix.

    I would take the paint back to wherever you bought it, and ask them if they can help you retint it.
