Reach down to the bottom of the weed as close to the ground as you can and pull it out.

That lasts the longest and will not hurt surrounding plants. Then lay wet thick pieces of newspaper on top of the ground and weight with soil or rocks to keep them from growing back.

  • Dig them out, kill with boiling water, Epsom salt followed by boiling water, or spray with vinegar, then dig out when dead. I spend time weeding every day while outside exercising the pets. Then it doesn't seem like such a daunting chore. Or you can smother them and place mulch on top.

The way your question is phrased...it sounds like you want a way to dispose of the weeds that you've already removed from the garden.

If so, start a compost bin or get yard-waste pick up from your trash hauler.

Hi Milton - pull them. Probably not what you wanted to hear. Once you have everything cleaned up and all the weeds pulled, be sure to mulch with either untreated grass clippings and leaf clippings, or a shredded wood mulch. You can also put a thick layer of newspaper or cardboard around your plants and then put mulch on top of that. Good luck and happy gardening!
