I Love going to the Dollar store and thinking up DIY! Well, today I was there and picked up these items to make this cute jar.

pan cover

glass candle dish

candle stick

black wire basket

I had wood finial (but you can get at any craft store)

First you'll want to remove the handle from the wire basket. You'll also want to take off those little rounded loops on the edge.

Just bend back and forth and it will come right off

Next to make the lid fit, begin trimming the rim, you'll want to remove about an inch.

Use some electric tape to seal it all nicely.

Next apply some E 6000 to the rim of the candlestick.

And then place the glass candle dish on top of it.

Make sure it's centered!

Then, in a well ventilated area, spray the base and the stove cover with black paint.

Next apply E 6000 to the bottom of basket and attach it to the glass candle plate.

Getting there...

The stove cover works as the perfect lid!

I also decided to add a finial to the top. I had this hanging around the house.

I sprayed it black as well, and glued it to the top of the lid.

It's finished! For under five dollars it’s a great look! Hope this inspires you to try something new. See more at my Facebook page Gilbert marketplace.

That is great. They would be neat on a bigger scale as a side table

Hello. I can not stand the smell of E6000 that lingers for a while. Any alternative glue that's just as good but doesn't stink?

Loved the Mackenzie Child finial. Are you a fan? 🙂
