How to Make Repurposed Whisk Flowers

6 Materials
1 Hour

It's easy to create fun flower accents for your gardens using something as simple as a wire kitchen whisk.

I often see see these plain wire handled whisks at thrift stores for 25 to 50 cents. They are perfect for making these flowers.

And the reason is that they can be bent to create flower stems.

To do this hold it down with one hand and bend the whisk part up with the other.

Wear work gloves if that makes it easier.

Once you have the handle bent you pull the whisk parts out like this, and you can leave them like this if you like.

Or pouf them up like I did before spray painting this one pink.

I spray painted a drawer handle yellow and glued it into the center with e6000 glue, and let it cure for 24 hours before putting the flower outside.

For my stem I'm using some leftover pvc pipe that I spray painted green.

It took about an hour to create this whisk flower due to the drying time of the spray paint.

This is a quick and easy project which will add a bit of fun to any garden or outdoor space.

This is cute. I was wondering if it was feasible, or possible, to stretch a balloon or plastic over the shaped petsy to add more color?

There is a little handle left where she bent it and I think she stuck it down into the pvc pipe.

I saw a post about making flowers with beaters & muffin tins and now I can't find it. Were those yours?
