Use black cellophane film which comes on a roll in the gift wrap dept. if dark green, blue, or purple goes with your decor, you can use two layers or add to one layer of black cellophane. I use Scotch tape, but if your window frames are wood instead of aluminum, you could probably use staples or racks. If you get a tear, use tape to fix it. Good luck! Jewell
Thanks
My bedroom windows are challenging. I used tension rods to hang a black out panel and then drapes over them, hung high on the wall.

Are you doing a darkroom?
The challenge is there is no clearance at all for a curtain rod. The window has blinds but faces the driveway: apartment complex, traffic from car lights are the problem
I put window film in a leaf pattern over two five foot transome windows over my bed..... looks like tree leaf view. They have lots of options on Amazon..... even comes in total blackout version.... https://www.amazon.com/s?k=light-blocking+window+film&ref=nb_sb_noss_2
