Hi Nick, this is Peggy. We have grown lots of tomatoes and they are really easy to grow. We buy plants from local store and they work just fine. We till the garden and get the soil soft. Dig a hole pour in water (we lace it with miracle grow). We also put preen around the plant ( not on it, be sure to shake all the preen off the plant) preen will prevent weeds coming up. Tomatoes like water and grow bigger with water. Check what kind you want (juice, salsa or just for eating). I know you will do a great job and I hope you enjoy the fruits of your labor.
