How to trap carpenter bees?

Can’t find the spot where they drill, only see one buzzing chest high back and forth on our deck. Have not caught it in the trap, which is the mason jar with a wood top with holes in it.

they wont hurt you and are very useful in the garden. DONT KILL IT!

  They WILL hurt you. They have a very painful bite if you annoy them. My husband’s boss got bit by one and he swelled up like a tennis ball!
