How do I fill two 8 foot by 4 foot 32 inch high garden beds?

I have a window box and while it's not as big as your beds, I recycled packing peanuts in mine. Even though they won't biodegrade they do take up space and allow the water to drain through. If you want something organic, then consider paper bags, newspaper. You could even fill part of it with rocks, but think about the future and plan in case you want to remove them later on. Wishing you the best.

If weight is no problem I use gravel. It adds drainage at the same time.

i used soda pop cans (empty) and plastic milk jugs (also empty)...work great and allow for drainage too.

Someone in a previous Hometalk article used cut up pool noodles. Your beds are big enough to leave the noodles whole!

Hello Jack, dollar store pool noodles, or large chunks of Styrofoam will fill the void for you
