My all-time best, favorite, and always effective ant treatment is to mix 50/50 Borax laundry soap (or boric acid) with table sugar. This kills ants in 3 ways: they die eating it, it eats through their exoskeleton and they die, they feed their dead to the nursery which will finally kill off the nest.
