We want to remodel the home back to the "original" condition to end up with a traditional weatherboard and iron cottage.

  • What specifically are you renovating? I have a house built in the mid-20's and have done a number of renovations.

What exactly are you wanting to change about the house?

O.K. I would start by reading through some copies of This Old House magazine. They are a very reputable and established source of information on restoring time-period-specific homes. You can borrow the magazines free from public libraries.

They have had a show on PBS for over 40 years now.

Fine Home Building website and magazine is another reputable source of information, inspirational photos, and ideas.
