How to repair slate on front porch?

The surface is uneven, trip hazzard, stone have come out or broken, repair or replace with other material. Or is there a leveling eposy that could cover the stone to have the effect of stone but not so uneven. Naturally inexpensive and holds up to season change.

Hi ! Use it as a planter stand ! Place a planter on top and fill with flowers and greenery that will grow over the sides and drape downwards . You can plant flowers that have height , all around the stump . You can make a fairy garden around it . You can make it a focal point by decorating around it and placing a lantern on the stump with a battery operated candle inside of a solar lantern.
