If you go to your local hardware store, they should have some spray paints that are specifically formulated for plastic. Rustoleum, Krylon, and Valspar all have lines that are formulated for adhering well to plastics.
I would use a spray paint, too. You could scrub the table with a little liquid soap and water, rinse it off and let it dry before painting. I’d wear an inexpensive paper face mask while spray painting so you don’t breathe it in.

The easiest is to spray paint it! Kyrlon, Rustoleum and even store brand spray paint, made specifically for plastic, work great!
