What is the easiest method to paint furniture?

I've been researching the most efficient method to paint wood furniture without needing to sand, as the small space I am in does not allow for it. I've tried Citristrip, super messy! I've tried it with saran wrap but that didn't work as well as the tutorials showed. Then I tried a Klean Strip deglosser but that still takes a LOT of elbow grease. Maybe I'm not using the best brand. Would anyone have an effective method?

Hi. Have you tried painting directly over what is on the piece? Annie Sloan Chalk Paint is fantastic and adheres to all surfaces that have been cleaned. There would be no need for stripping the current paint off. The only reason I ever strip off old paint is if it is lead paint that needs to come off. Good luck.

Chalk paint does not need any sanding. Just paint directly on the furniture. If you want to use regular paint all you need is to lightly sand to remove any gloss. You can use a green kitchen scrubby to scuff up the surface. Then just paint and seal. You can also use a liquid deglosser if you don't want to sand. If there are too many layers of paint then it would need to be stripped.
