How about putting lattice on the wall and filling each section with moss and faux succulents? I saw a picture from someone who did that, but unfortunately there are no formal instructions. It looks pretty easy to figure out, though. Wishing you the best.

You can do as Linda Sikut says, using drywall with pegboard, chicken wire, or narrow banners of wood—any surface that can support hooks or more shelving to hold the faux succulents. Only ounces each if you use plastic pots. Be sure to post your project on Hometalk! Jewell
