Where do you live? Along the east coast in mid-atlantic and in South, there are Fire Ants. They build above ground nests.

All I know to use is a poison called Andro. You will need to keep your animals away from it for a few days.

It is on ground corn, which the ants take into the bed & feed to the queen. It takes a few days, but will completely eliminate ants.

    Follow directions.

Thank you for answering. I live in Norway. I don't know if we can get Andro here. We have wery strict laws on the use of poisen on nature.

Diatomaceous earth might work and if you get food grade it won't harm animals.

If you can find mounds, poke a hole and boil water into the mound.

Borax can be used, mixed with cornmeal. There are more details about the use online. Should be safe for pets if used properly. If all else fails, call an exterminator. Good luck!
