If you plan to can fill them with non shrink drywall patching compound. Just put on enough to fill the grooves. Let it dry overnight. Next day use a damp sponge to smooth the patch. Then prime and paint.

If you don't want to paint...Use Minwax wood putty. Comes in all wood tones. Just find one to match.

'Irene....Are you wanting to paint the paneling? If so you don't really need to fill them. We didn't and it looks fine ... we just primed then painted. Ours was a little darker than you have so we used two coats of the primer and two of paint. I would just use a wood putty to fill the grooves it you want it to be smooth though.

If you are painting the paneling just use a good stain blocking primer and a small brush to get into the grooves. Once dry paint with a good mohair roller. It will look great.
