I would definitely have a bed that makes use of the vertical space in the room, which gives you storage, and more floor, space at the same time.

Consider a day bed. That would provide a seating area as well as a bed. If you already have a bed, you will probably want to move it against a wall to provide maximum play area. Book shelves or cubes with bins for toy storage. Let her help you decorate it. You can do a more grown up theme like nautical with mermaids. It would depend on what she enjoys.

I like the idea of a loft bed for small rooms. My daughter has bunk beds. She sleeps on the top one and the bottom one is a "couch" and holds her stuffed animals and dolls.

I would paint it and then change the bedding to something she loves and is into!

The idea of doing a tall bunk bed so you keep all of the floor space for activities is a great one and most kids would love to be up high like that! Under the bed can be a reading nook with shelves etc.
