Pour chlorine bleach into a spray bottle. Spray affected area until completely covered and let it set for a five minutes. Scrub battery acid stains with a hard bristle brush. If the stain remains, spray on another application of bleach and let it set longer.

Mix a paste of baking soda and water. Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate, which is alkaline. It will neutralize the acid. You can also use lime from your garden shed -- which is calcium carbonate -- but if the spill is a large one, the lime may combine with the acid and solidify.

Other method (use Dawn dish soap)
