How to landacape around an above ground pool?

How is the best way to put white gravel around the outside of an above ground swimming pool so that the gravel does not touch or damage the pool?

I would lay down landscape plastic first. You can pull it up a bit on the side of the pool and then put the stone down.
put bricks around the pool about 18 inches away then landscap fabric so you won’t get weeds then put gravel it will not hurt pool
