Is there anything that will make fabric really waterproof for deck chair covers?
You could use clear Rustoleum sealer. Scotch Guard will resist dust and dirt, but it would take many coats with drying time in between to match Rustoleum and other fabric sealers. Jewell
Thanks so much. I'm going to look it up now.
Specifically, I think jewellmartin is referring to Never Wet for Fabric. https://www.amazon.com/Rust-Oleum-278146-NeverWet-11-Ounce-Outdoor/dp/B00KRHF8E4/ref=sr_1_1?crid=39KW7JU340QDD&keywords=rustoleum+never+wet+fabric+spray&qid=1558547093&s=gateway&sprefix=rustoleum+Never+Wet+fabric%2Caps%2C178&sr=8-1
Do a search for "spray on fabric waterproofing" to find other brands.
Thanks, Mindshift! Jewell
Only covers made with solid vinyl and sewn with specially folded seams reinforced with silicone can be truly waterproof.
However, I have found Scotch-guard spray to be a quality product. It is effective in making fabrics highly water-resistant without altering the feel or texture of the fabric.
