Dig them out as they pop up. If you don't use chemicals on your lawn, they are quite tasty! Pour boiling water on them. Pile a bit of Epsom salt on them, followed by boiling water. Spray with vinegar, then dig out when dead.
I agree with Naomi. The most effective way to rid dandelions is to pop them out of the ground by the root. You can buy a hand tool specifically for this for a couple of dollars at any garden shop.
I agree with Naomie. Dig them out when they're young. They have long deep roots. Expect them to come back up.
