  • I use a product called Terro, Julie. I would check to see if it's safe for pets, though.

Diatomaceous earth - food grade - sprinkle around entrances, baseboards, cabinets. The only down side is it looks like you've spilled flour everywhere.

For a REALLY easy solution, that is permanent, use Grants Ant spikes - indoors too. I have never found them to be effective unless I dig the "goo" out of the hole with a toothpick to get it on the outside of the container.

Then I just place it in the ant trail some place and they go for it like crazy. It may take a couple of days, so DON'T keep wiping ants up as they carry this back to their nest. Suddenly they are GONE forever.

Keep a supply of these handy things on hand, as ants come in to FIND water when it is dry and to get AWAY from water when it is wet!

Hi Juile. There is a product called Diatomaceous Earth. It is all organic and safe for pets and children. Its a powder made of crushed shells and coral. It makes little cuts on any insect with a exoskeleton causing them to dehydrate and die. I use it in my yard for ticks, and ants. Also wipe your counters floors and baseboards (where ever you see them) down with vinegar. It kills the scent trail they leave behind for others.
