How to update laminate floors?

I had a laminate floor put in 8 yrs ago. It was never a good color and now its worn and even though its support to be water resistant it soaks up spills. Is there anyway to change the color and refinish it so it doesnt soak up water?

The best you can do is a gel stain. Laminate is not the same as hardwood. You can't sand and refinish the way you do with hardwood. I had laminate and ripped it all out. Gel staining will only minimally help with water issues.
