The odors will always be there if you do not have any fresh air or circulating fans moving the air around to keep it dry.
Lay down newspaper and spread plain charcoal briquettes (not with lighter fluid). Another product you can use is Odo-Ban.
You can purchase sheets of charcoal ( cut to proper fit ) to place in all your vents as well as little bags of charcoal to set around the room, on Amazon. Open all the windows and let the funky old smell out! If there are no windows, run fans. The charcoal will help absorb the odors. You can also invest in a Hepa air purifier w/ a charcoal prefilter. They work wonders! Good Luck!
